There are many benefits to sharing a smile however, lets discuss smiling and neurotransmitters. Did you know that smiling can help lower your stress level.
How you ask? Muscle movements send a message to the brain which then triggers the release of neurotransmitters. The neurotransmitters that are realsed during this process are endorphins and serotonin. They are known as the "feel-good chemicals" and can make us feel happy when they are released, which in turn relaxes the body.
Laughter can do the same. So next time you feel stressed have a good ol' hard belly laugh and smile and you will feel less stressed.
